Chemmani Mass Graves

The scale of the mass grave in Chemmani is devastating.

Behind each exhumation is a family in grief, seeking truth and justice.

The international community must come together to ensure that an investigation happens in full compliance with international human rights law and standards.

I recently wrote to the Foreign Secretary about this matter, and last month I asked on record whether the UK would provide technical assistance for the investigation of the graves.

He confirmed that it is something he is looking at, action that I welcome.

The UK must play our part in full alongside international allies.
