The escalating crisis in Sudan

Today Harpreet Uppal MP and I hosted a meeting on the escalating crisis in Sudan.

We heard harrowing accounts from Sudanese community leaders, Médecins Sans Frontières, and the The BMA: hospitals turned into battlegrounds, civilians targeted, and women and children bearing the brunt.

The UN has declared Sudan as the world’s largest humanitarian crisis - with credible allegations of genocide and war crimes.

As the UN penholder, the UK has a responsibility to lead. We must bring international actors together and take urgent, concrete action now.
